This little game has had me addicted for several minutes. The idea is, like all good games, really simple, but the principle of connecting the arc segments is anything but!

It's enough to make you crazy, but Cingular is going the way of the dodo -- or more correctly, the Cingular name is going away. The elderly partnership between Bell South, Ameritech and SBC is now going to be renamed . . you guessed it: AT&T. The history behind this is interesting to some of us.

There's two newspapers I'm reading in Vancouver. They are both national, rather than local, newspapers, but the writing in each is very nice. I'm especially attracted to The National Post, although I think a recent set of articles on North Korea had some factual errors in them. The other is the Globe and Mail. Both, of course, have online editions -- but the feel and smell of the paper (not to mention that you can take the paper in the bathtub) makes the hard copy preferable.

Here's a bluetooth conference tool that I'd like to have. I'll have to wait, but that's okay. For now I'll rely on the pathetic speaker in my V3 RAZR.

My friend Greg Ruth (no blog, no web site that I know of) passed along this gem. Seattle based drink maker Jones SOda is launching a holiday pack of sodas. Each five-pack (a five-pack?) includes one bottle of Turkey and Gravy Soda, Wild Herb Stuffing Soda, Cranberry Soda, Pumpkin Pie Soda, and Brussels Sprouts Soda. When one of the testers tried the soda he left this quote: "It tastes just like Brussels Sprouts, it almost made me hurl." The holiday packs are being sold at Target across the United States.
I'll be sure to look for it. Perhaps in a sign of potential culinary disaster, the company plans to donate $150,000 from the sale of the holiday packs to charity. Perhaps the sick puppy fund. Monday, November 7

Google turns out to be one of a growning number of companies that is rewarding its employees for buying fuel efficient cars. A nice idea I think The idea is to encourage employees to do the right thing if they have to have a car. Of course, Google doesn't reward the bike rider in the same way and the person who uses mass transportation needs to look elsewhere, but still the idea is a nice one in the current environment.Unfortunately the owners of Google have bought themselves a Boeing 767 as their own toy. Not a corporate jet to get employees to conferences and meetings, but a toy for the owners to have at their disposal. So much for environmental concern. All of the good intentions in the world are wrecked by the owners not having, or believeing in, the same set of values.
